Enjoy the summery-fresh taste of homemade lemonade with this super easy recipe!

Most of the recipes in our ABC Snacks Series are designed to be made with just 1 or 2 kids, but with our Lickety-split Lemonade you’ll have enough to quench the thirst of the whole neighborhood!

And the best part is that a jug of this refreshing drink will mix up…well…lickety-split! Our two willing helpers made a great big pitcher to share with all their friends, and they had a great time doing it.

It’s the perfect treat for a summer picnic or pool party. And if the weather is dreary or cold, this sweet thirst quencher will bring back fond summer memories. There’s never a wrong time for ice cold lemonade!

Lickety-Split Lemonade

Here’s what you’ll need to make a pitcher of lemonade:

  • 10-12 lemons plus 1 for garnish
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Ice (optional)

Directions:

  1. Roll the lemons with slight pressure to release the juices.
  2. Squeeze lemons over a strainer into a bowl. Set the juice aside.
  3. To create a simple syrup, combine sugar and 1 cup water in a small pot over medium low heat.
  4. Slowly stir until sugar is dissolved, being careful not to bring to a boil.
  5. Cool the simple syrup.
  6. Combine the syrup, lemon juice, and remaining water in a pitcher and stir. Add ice if desired.
  7. Slice the remaining lemon into discs and add to pitcher.
