Your preschoolers will yell “Yippee!” when they see the playful toy in this entertaining ABC Craft! Though a real yo-yo requires some practice (and a few tangled strings), your child will have this letter Y craft mastered in minutes!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- 2 sheets of printer paper
- Card stock (we used yellow, blue, orange, and white)
- Y Is for Yo-yo Craft templates
- Glue stick
- Pencil and scissors
Instructions for Assembling Your Lowercase Y Craft
- Print the Y Is for Yo-yo Craft templates.
- Cut out the templates and trace the letter Y and the yo-yo pieces onto card stock.
- Cut out the letter Y and yo-yo pieces.
- Glue the letter Y onto a full sheet of card stock (we used yellow, but you can use any color you like).
- To assemble the yo-yo, glue the white string compartment between the yo-yo front and back pieces, off-setting the pieces slightly so that all the layers show on the right side of the yo-yo as shown in the example.
- Glue the blue decorative circle onto the front of the yo-yo.
- Affix the star to the blue decorative circle.
- Position the string and the yo-yo beneath the right side of the letter Y as shown in the example and glue in place.
